The ancient town of Mejdlaya knew Christianity since the emergence of the Christian church. Today it is a Maronite parish of Tripoli Maronite diocese.
When the current church was built, Mejdlaya was a village with less than 150 inhabitants. These were easily absorbed into the church.
But today the diocese counts more than 3000 people, and is growing rapidly.
Therefore, a pressing need to build a new church to accommodate at least some thousand inhabitants as well as other buildings necessary for the spiritual and social activities.

the residents' feeling of belonging to the village of origin and provides historical stability. It is also a central region of tremendous upswing. This site preserves the privacy of this parish.
