Mejdlaya
  school of Al Saydeh Mejdlaya

The school of Al Saydeh Mejdlaya.
In 1956, the priest of the parish of Mejdlaya the late Bios Beaїni was able, after hard work, to make the endowment buy the house of the late Francis Beaїni for a symbolic price. He immediately made a committee to gather donations in order to prepare the house to become a suitable residence for sisters and a school for girls. The Archbishop Antoon Abed intervened and a gratuitous school was founded following the authority of the Archbishop of the parish and directed by the Maronite sisters of the Holy Family.
The first academic year began in 1957-1958 for teaching the boys and the girls of the parish without having to move to the schools of Tripoli.

In 1971 the priest of the parish obtained the real estate 1219, next to the church of Al Saydeh as a donation from the endowment. After that, an agreement with the sisters was reached to establish a new school instead of the house of the endowment. Work began but the incidents of 1975 stopped it and the sisters and the inhabitants were forced to move outside it.
When the teaching began in 1977, the school began taking charges and new classes for complementary education were opened. Five years later, secondary classes were added.
Today, the school is still in the service of the parish and its neighborhood despite the financial difficulties of both the parents and the school. The school is working to augment the services for its students by providing theaters, playgrounds, libraries, computers, and different kinds of labs. We may witness a university in the future of this school.
The presidents of this school in chronological order had been the following sisters: Ifrazi Victoire, Emilda Mary Alfonse, Mary Germain, Clotilde Deebeh, and actually sister Samira Mfawad.
